We need to talk about Tony

Grinning ghoulish POS Tony Blair was a war criminal in Iraq and his company is participating in the plan for land theft and ethnic cleansing in Gaza now.  If any man belongs in the Dock at The Hague, it is Tony Blair.  The orange suit and manacles are tailor made for this twat.

Let’s get one thing straight before the neo-liberal apologists and centrist pearl-clutchers get twitchy: Tony Blair is not a misunderstood statesman or some elder diplomat ushering in an era of peace and progress.  He's responsible for a war that he personally profited from and that didn't need to happen.  A man who should be rotting in a cell in alongside the other architects of modern imperial slaughter.

His legacy isn’t New Labour or Sure Start or the bloody minimum wage, it’s the smouldering ruins of Baghdad, the mass graves of Fallujah, the privatised coffins of British soldiers, and the institutionalisation of Western impunity in the face of international law.

The Iraq war: a crime laid bare

22 years ago Tony Blair sent our military into Iraq based on bullshit.  The 2003 invasion of Iraq, built on a deliberate lie about weapons of mass destruction, cost over 1 million lives by some estimates (see IPPNW/Physicians for Social Responsibility, 2015: "Body Count"). The UK’s own Chilcot Inquiry found that Blair exaggerated the threat posed by Iraq and committed to war long before all peaceful options had been exhausted (Chilcot Report, 2016).  This meets all the legal definitions of the crime of aggression under international law (UN General Assembly Resolution 3314), a prosecutable offence at the International Criminal Court.  But Blair’s always been shielded by the fact that, unlike African warlords or Balkan generals, he wears a suit, hobnobs with Wall Street, and has a barrister wife.

From Baghdad to Gaza: the Blair empire rolls on

And now, as if the stench of Iraq weren’t enough, Blair is back with blood on his hands once more: this time in Gaza.   His vehicle may have changed, from Number 10 to the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change (TBI): but the mission remains the same: dress up Western-backed theft, occupation, and apartheid as 'development' and 'modernisation'.  Since late 2023, TBI has been meeting with Israeli, Emirati, US and Egyptian officials on Gaza’s 'post-conflict' future, even while the bombing continues. TBI is deeply involved in plans to 'rebuild' Gaza in a way that marginalises Palestinian sovereignty, proposing economic frameworks that align closely with Israeli and Western regional interests (Axios, 2024, Times of Israel, 2024).

They’re not rebuilding Gaza for Palestinians. They’re rebuilding it for occupation profiteers.  TBI is also reportedly coordinating with Gulf-backed investors and UAE state actors on how to make the territory 'investable', despite international law making it illegal to profit from occupied land (Fourth Geneva Convention, Articles 47–55). This is the Blair MO: privatise the reconstruction of rubble his friends helped make.

And let’s not forget the real prize under Gaza’s sands and surf: natural gas because as sure as bears shit in the woods this has been factored in to the equation.   There’s an estimated 1 trillion cubic feet of natural gas off the coast of Gaza in the Marine I and II fields, discovered in 1999 and owned on paper by the Palestinian people.  But of course the Israeli’s have been circling that gas like a vulture for decades, blocking Palestinian development while cutting its own secretive deals with energy giants like Chevron and BP.  Blair’s mates.  The British government under both Labour and Tory rule helped shut down Palestinian exploitation of these fields, citing 'security' concerns.  At the same time Israel’s navy kept the waters locked down and Gaza’s fishermen starved. This isn’t just a siege: it’s resource theft on an imperial scale. The plan is simple: flatten Gaza, kill or expel the people, and drill the gas: all under the branding of 'regional cooperation' and 'clean energy transition'.  They’re looting Gaza’s future while its children bleed in the rubble.  And Blair?  He’s there with the PowerPoint, and the after dinner speeches, pitching it to investors like it’s a f***ing opportunity, not a war crime. Gaza: Genocide in real time

Let’s not mince words. What we’re witnessing in Gaza today isn’t a 'conflict' or a 'war'.  It’s the organised, methodical destruction of a captive civilian population by one of the most powerful militaries on earth. Thousands of children slaughtered. Hospitals flattened. Schools turned to ash.  As of June 2025, a conservative estimate is over 57,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, the vast majority civilians, including at least 20,000 children (OCHA/UNRWA, 2025).  More than 70% of housing units have been destroyed or damaged, and the UN has repeatedly warned that conditions are genocidal (UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese, March 2024).  Albanese’s report concludes that there is 'reasonable grounds to believe that the threshold indicating the commission of the crime of genocide has been met'.  So let’s call it what it is: ethnic cleansing by bombs and bulldozers. And Tony fucking Blair is in the background advising the looters on what to build next.

Disaster capitalism for settler colonialism

The idea that Gaza will be handed to Palestinians after the war is laughable.  Blair’s plans involve a post-Hamas governance structure under heavy Israeli-Egyptian control, with Palestinian Authority figures (widely despised in Gaza) installed as administrators of a neoliberal prison camp.  TBI’s 'vision' is textbook disaster capitalism.  As Naomi Klein documented in The Shock Doctrine (2007), Western powers use crises to force through economic agendas that would otherwise be resisted.  Gaza is just the latest case: bomb it flat, kill the kids, sell the ruins, bring in the suits.

It’s not just morally bankrupt, it’s aiding and abetting war crimes. And let’s not forget that any economic activity built on stolen land, especially under occupation, violates international humanitarian law. Investors who profit from it are legally complicit, and that includes Blair’s so-called development partners (Al-Haq, 2024).

Tony Blair Institute 'Gaza Riviera' plan

And our Zionist sock puppet of a Government?

Starmer’s Labour government is not neutral, not cautious, not “balancing” interests.   It’s an active accomplice in war crimes. It has inherited the Tory legacy of imperial allegiance and deepened it with Blairite zeal.  The Foreign Office, now steered by a cabinet of Atlanticist yes-men and Labour Friends of Israel loyalists, has thrown its full weight behind Israeli 'security', refused to condemn the slaughter of civilians, and doubled down on Britain’s role as arms dealer, enabler, and apologist for ethnic cleansing (LFI Parliamentary Supporters, 2024).

This is not diplomatic caution, it’s collaboration with a genocidal regime.  While Gaza’s hospitals burn and its children starve, the UK continues to license arms sales to Israel, including components for F-35 'tentbuster' fighter jets, drones, and precision-guided bombs, all used to full effect in the siege.

According to Campaign Against Arms Trade, the UK has licensed at least £487 million in arms to Israel since 2015, and continues to do so during the current genocide (CAAT, 2024). These exports breach the UK’s own export control laws (Export Control Order 2008, Section 26) and violate the Arms Trade Treaty (Article 6), which prohibits arms transfers when there is a clear risk they may be used to commit or facilitate serious violations of international humanitarian law (Arms Trade Treaty).

Under international law, the use of weapons in densely populated civilian areas including those supplied by allies, engages state responsibility for complicity in war crimes (International Law Commission, Articles on State Responsibility, 2001).

Meanwhile, the Tony Blair Institute is operating with impunity, acting as the consultancy wing of post-war colonisation. TBI is deeply involved in 'post-conflict' plans for Gaza, meeting with Israeli, Egyptian, Emirati, and US officials to develop 'governance' and 'investment' strategies – without Palestinian consent (Axios, Jan 2024, Times of Israel, Jan 2024).  This is reconstruction not for Palestinians, but for investors and occupying powers, with plans explicitly tied to energy, security cooperation and economic integration with the Gulf states (Financial Times, March 2024).  And the UK government, including the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO),  is not only aware of these plans, it is providing quiet diplomatic support.  TBI has former British diplomats on staff, including those with FCDO clearance, and the UK has not challenged a single component of Blair’s proposals, which directly contradict international humanitarian law protections for occupied territories (Fourth Geneva Convention, Articles 47–55: ICRC Commentary).

This is a war crime being dressed up in glossy PDFs and investment pitches.

And on the home front?  Well, as we have seen if you speak out against this complicity, you’re the one treated like a criminal. Just ask the grassroots network of activists we aren't even allowed to fucking name now, a newly proscribed group, who’ve shut down multiple Elbit Systems arms factories across the UK.  Elbit is Israel’s largest private weapons manufacturer, producing drones and munitions used in Gaza.   Rather than prosecute the company for its role in atrocities, the UK Government designated the group a terrorist organisation in June 2025 under the Terrorism Act 2000, despite the group being entirely non-lethal and focused on property damage, not violence ([Home Office Statement, June 2025 – source available via Hansard or GOV.UK press archive]).  Legal experts, including Netpol and the Good Law Project, have criticised this move as a chilling breach of civil liberties and an authoritarian escalation against dissent (Netpol, June 2025).  It’s a sick inversion of justice. Non-violent resistance is outlawed, while the state continues to arm and abet a regime that drops 2,000-pound bombs on tented refugee camps. This is what modern Labour stands for: rule by lobby, silence by design, war crimes by contract.  Starmer may not have Blair’s desperately needing a long overdue punch in the mouth smirk, but make no mistake:  he is carrying the torch of British imperial violence with cold, calculating discipline.  History will not forget that when genocide was live-streamed, Labour sided with the butchers, and helped Blair cash in on the ruins.

And lurking behind Blair, as ever, is Peter Mandelson, the master tactician of elite capture, now operating in the shadows of corporate boardrooms and Davos wine bars.  Mandelson, the godfather of New Labour and now a consultant to Gulf monarchies, multinational asset firms, and political tech lobbies, has been pushing the same post-conflict 'opportunity' narrative as Blair: Gaza not as a humanitarian crisis, but as a business model.  He sits on advisory boards and moves in circles where 'stabilisation' means suppressing resistance so the pipelines can flow and the capital can move freely.  Mandelson’s firm, Global Counsel, has lobbied on behalf of clients with ties to defence, surveillance, and Israeli-linked interests, all while maintaining privileged access to UK policy makers (Global Counsel Clients – Transparency International, 2023). He remains close to Blair, to Starmer’s inner circle, and to the very financial elites lining up to profit from Gaza’s reconstruction on stolen land. Mandelson’s legacy is one of triangulation, privatisation, and a quiet war on democracy and now he’s helping sell the myth that neoliberal development can somehow wash away the blood in Gaza. But make no mistake: when Blair pitches the 'recovery plan' it’s Mandelson whispering in the background, helping oligarchs and oil barons write the script. Of course the Palestinian people are not invited to the table: they are the collateral.

The Hague awaits (but probably not)

Let’s cut to the chase. The International Criminal Court has an open file on Palestine and has confirmed that its jurisdiction includes Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem (ICC, 2021).  It is investigating Israeli officials, but nothing stops it from adding Western enablers and profiteers to that list.  Blair should be at the fucking top of it.  Under Article 25 of the Rome Statute, individuals can be prosecuted for aiding, abetting, or otherwise facilitating the commission of war crimes or crimes against humanity.  If you’re helping design an economic structure to consolidate ethnic cleansing?   That’s participation.   So here’s the challenge: if the ICC wants to be taken seriously, try hauling a rich white war criminal to court for once.  Blair shouldn’t be on panels, giving TED Talks, or appearing on the BBC as some wise old owl of geopolitics.  He should be in the dock, in a jumpsuit, answering for Iraq, Gaza, and every single one of his crimes.

Until then, every word Blair utters about peace, democracy, or human rights should be met with nothing but contempt,  and a very loud reminder: You belong in the dock, mate.

A poem about Tony B. Liar

Tony Blair, that grinning ghost,
Who dines with vampires that toast the host,
Now peddles 'growth' in Gaza's name
But leaves behind a trail of shame.

He sold us war with doctored proof,
And now he sells a 'future' spoof!
Where kids lie crushed in UN schools,
He drafts up charts for fossil ghouls

His TBI, a vulture’s dream:
'Recovery' as a PR scheme.
He pockets fees for gas offshore
Third world wealth? It's Blair's once more.

While mums pull limbs from shattered stone,
He Zooms and Teams from tax-free zones.
He calls it 'peace' and leech’s feast
A middleman for Western beasts.

He doesn’t build, he just extracts,
Then files it all as 'just a pact'
The rubble smokes, the children rot
And Blair invoices for the lot.
