Let’s stop pissing about. At this point, you have to ask: what the hell does Israel have on our politicians? Because nothing else explains the slavish, unblinking, morally bankrupt loyalty to a state currently engaged in what numerous legal scholars have labelled as genocide in Gaza. Not alleged. Not exaggerated Genocide, but clear for anyone with a pair of eyes to see. And yet British politicians, red, blue, yellow and green ties are queuing up to defend Israel like it’s their own bastard child caught bullying in the playground.
How about running through some of these atrocities? indiscriminate bombing of civilian areas? Check. Targeting hospitals? Check. Using starvation as a weapon? Double check. Denying humanitarian aid? Triple check. Killing aid workers? Check, check, check, including three Brits with World Central Kitchen in April 2024, murdered in a clearly marked convoy (The Guardian, 2024). Israel shrugged and said, our bad, then went back to the slaughter. This isn’t a war. It’s a siege and an ethnic cleansing campaign, broadcast in high definition. And yet, while the rest of the world watches in horror, Britain’s political class wrings its hands, mumbles about Israel’s 'right to self-defence' on a loop and spins around like trained seals to bark whenever the Israeli embassy whistles. What the fuck is going on?
Look, let’s be honest. The Israel lobby exists. It operates. It influences policy. And everyone knows it, but no one’s allowed to say it. Because the second you do, out come the attack dogs, barking 'antisemite' like it's a reflex. Doesn’t matter if you’re Jewish, Black, Muslim, white, leftist, centrist: none of this matters - you'll soon have some Israeli shill like Lipni, Regev, Hodge or the Board of Fucking Deputies screaming at you for daring to speak truth to power. Speak up for Palestine and your career’s on life support. Ask Jeremy Corbyn. You think that's hyperbole? Ask yourself why Labour MPs were told not to attend ceasefire marches while babies were being pulled out of rubble. Why did Keir Starmer, a former human rights barrister (the irony meter still explodes when I write that) say Israel 'has the right' to cut off water and electricity to Gaza, something even the Geneva Convention classifies as a war crime? (LBC, 2023) It's not just Labour. The Tories, of course, are worse: slavering sycophants to any form of Western militarism. Rishi Sunak practically needed a bib to catch the drool when he backed Israel’s 'proportionality' after 30,000 dead. He didn’t even flinch. Why? What do they know? Or, more chillingly, what does Israel know about them? And of course if you question Israeli atrocities then somehow you're a supporter of HAMAS - The Israelis and their supporters stamp thier feet like petulent children when they are called out, you can almost hear the tantrum as the teddy bears are slamming doors inside their heads - "It's not genocide! It's not! IT'S NOT! wah!".
If it wasn't so tragic it'd be comical, but the shouty little fuckers are always given disproportionate airtime and column inches, even when they are lying through their teeth and everyone knows they are: remember the 50 beheaded babies and pregnant women having babies cut out of their bellies? I'm still waiting for the BBC to call that shit out for what it was. I suppose I'll wait a long time. They pitch this warm bucket of lumpy arse gravy to us in the same way they pitch this to the yanks. This bullshit may very well work through AIPAC because the average bible belt book basher has the critical thinking ability of a fucking pebble. The Israelis and their supporters on the Christian right think they can pull the same crap on us but it doesn't work here.
Let’s start with Labour Friends of Israel (LFI), a group that claims to support 'a two-state solution' while saying fuck all about settlements, checkpoints, or apartheid walls. LFI MPs are deafeningly silent as Israel slaughters civilians, but shriek with indignation the second someone mentions sanctions or international law. The current Labour leadership is absolutely riddled with them, from Shadow Ministers down to the PR wonks writing tweets to justify war crimes. This is the group that cheered when Jeremy Corbyn was crushed, because a left-wing Labour leader who wouldn’t grovel to the Israeli embassy was a threat to business as usual. They were up to thier nuts in the antisemitism smear campaign that wrecked the left, demonised lifelong anti-racists, and purged pro-Palestinian voices across the party. Their mission was never peace. It was obedience.
Then there’s Conservative Friends of Israel (CFI), less slick, more naked. These are the lads who pose with IDF generals like they’re pop stars and fall over themselves to back every Israeli bombing campaign like it’s 2003 and Tony Blair’s still spraying his pants over WMD's. The CFI are such a fixture in Tory politics that over 80% of Conservative MPs are reportedly members (Middle East Eye, 2020).
Let that sink in: the majority of our Parliament belongs to lobbying groups linked to a foreign state currently being investigated for genocide. If it were Russia, there’d be outrage. If it were Iran, there’d be sanctions. But because it’s Israel, it’s handshakes, fundraisers, and another round of military tech sales. And we need to make it make sense. What we’re talking here is literally the dictionary definition of genocide, and still our so-called leaders dance attendance like starstruck interns hoping for a pat on the head from Netanyahu.
We need to talk about money, too. When ever there's something distasteful in Parliament there's always a shitty handed trail to the cookie jar. Both Friends groups have deep-pocketed donors. CFI in particular is a funding powerhouse, with wealthy backers who’ve handed millions to the Tories. LFI might not throw around quite as much cash, but it offers something else: protection. If you’re in Labour and you don’t toe the LFI line? Your career’s over. Ask any of the hundreds of councillors, CLP officers, and members who’ve been suspended or expelled over social media posts supporting Palestinian rights. In a political world where a tweet about Gaza can get you hounded out faster than sexual misconduct ever will, groups like LFI and CFI are the enforcers. They define the limits of 'acceptable' discourse. They decide who’s 'safe' to promote. They manufacture consent, smear the opposition, and ensure that both major parties remain absolutely loyal to Israeli impunity.
Israel’s defenders are not working class. They’re not on picket lines or in food banks. They’re at party fundraisers. The Conservative Party has received millions from donors with strong ties to pro-Israel lobbying groups (OpenDemocracy, 2021). Labour Friends of Israel is flush, while its left wing has been strangled of funds. You want a future in British politics? Better start waving an Israeli flag before you even think about a Palestinian one.And what of our media? The BBC, now headed by political appointees with connections to Downing Street, insists on saying “Israel says” even when what Israel says is a proven lie. Channel 4? On the chopping block. The Guardian? Busy sacking pro-Palestine columnists and burying anti-apartheid voices.
Here’s a hypothesis, not a conspiracy theory, but a rational line of questioning: Israel, through its security services, has long been known for its sophisticated cyber-intelligence and information operations. From Unit 8200 (Israel’s equivalent of GCHQ) to its private-sector spyware industry (hello, NSO Group, creators of Pegasus, used to hack journalists and dissidents worldwide. Amnesty International, 2021), Israel has the digital tools to watch, listen, and record. Are our politicians compromised? Have some been leaned on? Have embarrassing secrets been dangled? Or are they just so politically gutless, so morally bankrupt, that they’d rather shut up and cash in than risk a smear campaign in the press? Because that’s the other part of this: fear.
The Israel lobby, through groups like Labour Friends of Israel, Conservative Friends of Israel, and assorted media attack dogs, has created a climate of fear in which speaking up for Palestinians is political suicide. Look at the purging of left-wing voices in the Labour Party. Look at the defenestration of Diane Abbott. Of Zarah Sultana’s constant abuse. Of the hundreds of local councillors and activists expelled or hounded out because they dared to express solidarity with the oppressed.
Let’s be very fucking clear: this is not about Judaism. This is not about Jews. This needs putting back in the box right now while the accusation of anti-Semitism, that's been thrown around like confetti, still has a shread of stigma left, so it can be used against the real anti-Semites and have some teeth. This is about a settler-colonial, far-right state that is now openly backed by neo-Nazis in the United States, arms dealers in Europe, and genocide apologists in Westminster. British Jews are marching against this. Rabbis have been arrested protesting this. Jewish Voice for Labour, Na’amod, Jewdas - they’re putting their bodies on the line. Meanwhile, the Tories and Starmer’s Labour continue licking Netanyahu’s blood-soaked boots. This is about a brutal, far-right ethnostate using religion to justify apartheid, war crimes, and ethnic cleansing. It is backed by the worst people on Earth: Donald Trump, Viktor Orbán, Narendra Modi, Christian Zionists who think Jews are a stepping stone to Armageddon. Meanwhile, Jewish Voice for Labour, Na’amod, IfNotNow, and Jewdas are screaming into the void while Keir Starmer and Badenoch sing in harmony with a butchering regime.
This silence from British politicians is not passive. It is complicit. They are enabling war crimes. They are arguably accomplices as a result of our RAF intelligence sorties over Gaza and they are providing political cover for atrocities. And we, the public, have been gaslit into thinking it’s extreme to demand a ceasefire or radical to say maybe bombing starving children is wrong. So what exactly have the fuckers in Likud, Shit Bet and Mossad got on our politicians? Maybe it's not kompromat. Maybe it's just the usual cocktail of cowardice, careerism, and corruption. But until someone breaks ranks, until someone grows a fucking spine, we're left with a Parliament of the morally dead, waving through war crimes while Palestine bleeds.
So I say again - what the hell has Israel got on our politicians? Well it appears it's nothing they didn’t offer up freely. Because our Parliament is not full of brave leaders, it’s full of careerist invertibrates afraid of losing their seats, their donors, or their next big think tank job. It’s full of empty suits who think human rights are optional, and that speaking up for Palestine is a PR crisis to be avoided, not a moral duty to be upheld. Labour Friends of Israel. Conservative Friends of Israel. Friends of genocide, more like. Friends of bombs dropped on kindergartens, friends of war crimes, friends of collective punishment, occupation, apartheid. And until someone breaks the consensus of complicity, the blood won’t just be on Netanyahu’s hands. It’ll be on ours.
This complicity is a Britain that has turned its back on justice, dignity, and international law, all to keep in favour with a foreign power that murders children in their sleep and calls it 'security'. Until we break that grip, until we say no to LFI and CFI, no to smear campaigns, no to cash-for-obedience, we are not just watching war crimes. We are actively enabling them.
Sowe need to ask both our major parties one question: There are both Labour and Conservative Friends of Israel. What precisely is it about Israel that makes you want to be friends with these out of control murdering cunts?
Make it fucking make sense.
