Will Yvette Cooper Use a False Flag Against Palestine Action?
To follow on from Justice lies sleeping
Labour’s decision to proscribe Palestine Action (PA) as a terrorist organisation already reeks of political calculation not principle. PA aren’t terrorists; they’re direct-action protestors targeting arms manufacturers and supply chains fuelling the Israeli occupation. Court advisories reportedly cautioned against branding them terrorists, but Yvette Cooper pressed on regardless. Why? Because her loyalty appears to lie with the lobbyists, not the public. It may sound far fetched to talk about false flag attacks but bear in mind this is a Government that is arming, supporting and protecting a genocide. If they are capable of that they are capable of anything.
Cooper’s Real Constituency
If I lived in Castleford I wouldn't be happy that someone like Yvette Cooper is my MP. Her constituency clearly isn't the one that put her in Parliament. She answers to lobbysits, donors and Israel. Yvette Cooper isn’t just a member of the Labour Party she is also a known supporter of Labour Friends of Israel (LFI), a parliamentary group dedicated to strengthening British ties with Israel and a known channel for influence and access. LFI counted around a quarter of Labour MPs in its ranks, including Cooper, Rachel Reeves, and David Lammy. Declassified UK+6Declassified UK+6Facebook+6Wikipedia+1
Moreover, pro-Israel lobby groups have donated to 13 of Labour’s 25 cabinet ministers, comprising a substantial share of senior decision‑makers. Cooper is explicitly listed among them. Declassified UK+2X (formerly Twitter)+2The case against LFI
Cash, Trips, and Influence
You may be wondering. When a country is indicted for war crimes. When supporting them is unlawful in International Criminal Law. When our Government is full of lawyers and human rights advocates who understand this - what precisely does Labour want to be friends with Israel for? I was wondering that too and the only conclusion that can be drawn is the huge amounts of bungs, sorry donations, finding their way through the opaque channels of the Israel lobby.
Labour Friends of Israel is known to pay for trips to Israel: fact-finding missions that carry real political currency. High-profile Labour figures such as Rachel Reeves, David Lammy, Emily Thornberry, and others have traveled under its wing. The Guardian+7andyworthington.co.uk+7Facebook+7Beyond these formal avenues, there are credible claims (though harder to verify) that Cooper received substantial sums: up to £215,000 from the Israel lobby. While the figure stems from a social media account, it underscores the perception of deep financial entanglement. Facebook+1To top it off, in May 2024, her office staff made an overseas trip to Israel as part of a parliamentary delegation, with their accommodation and travel paid for by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs. If we had a Government that truly had the interests of the oppressed at heart, they'd be queuing up to distance themselves from such a toxic body and if there was any justice they'd be recycling their donations into charities on the ground in Gaza.
Manufacturing 'Violence': The Case for a False Flag
Let’s be clear: Palestine Action has no record of violence against people, only property damage and disruption. That’s not enough to sustain a terrorism proscription under UK law, which emphasises threats to life and safety. So how does Cooper overcome that gap? History offers an answer.
British security services: MI5, Special Branch, undercover police, all have a documented history of infiltration, surveillance, and provocation:
- Northern Ireland: British intelligence ran informants inside both republican and loyalist groups, sometimes allowing or even steering violent acts.
- Spycops scandal: undercover officers infiltrated trade unions, anti-racist movements, and environmental groups, some even forming relationships and fathering children under false identities.
- Miners’ Strike & Poll Tax protests: police and intelligence units were widely accused of planting agents to escalate or justify repressive policing.
Given that legacy, it’s not paranoid to wonder if a similar approach could be used against Palestine Action.
So Britain has long used false flags and agent provocateurs to justify repression. From Northern Ireland, to environmental and social justice movements, to policing at the miners’ strike and poll-tax era. Provocation is a tool deeply embedded in the state’s playbook. If the Home Office needs a 'violent' Palestine Action, it can very well manufacture it under cover, by planting an operative, steering activists toward a reckless plan, then 'uncovering' it just as it suits.
The Media as Enabler
A provoked or staged plot is only effective if the press plays along. In such a scenario:- Right-wing tabloids would scream 'Terror Plot Foiled!'
- With BBC 'balance', they’d feature security experts, many with state links, treating the incident as proof of PA’s extremism.
- No one asks whether the plot was genuine, or whether it was seeded by a state informant.
The True Terrorists
Let’s be frank: the real violence comes from the invisible machinery behind the arms trade. Elbit missiles, drone components, surveillance equipment, they’re built, sold, and shipped with Westminster’s blessing. Palestine Action interrupts that flow. That’s why they’re dangerous, not to civilians, but to profits and cover-ups. Yvette Cooper’s proscription isn’t motivated by public safety it’s motivated by profit protection. And if truth isn’t enough, statecraft has other ways.
Conclusion
Cooper and the Home Office face a problem:
- PA’s actions are disruptive but not lethal.
- Public sympathy often leans toward Palestinians, especially given the scale of destruction in Gaza.
- To maintain proscription under the Terrorism Act, the government needs a case that PA represents a threat to 'life and safety' not just property.
A manufactured violent incident or an infiltration that nudges activists toward it – would give Cooper the 'proof' she currently lacks.
Why this should be watched closely
- Media framing: right-wing press are already itching to brand PA as extremists. Any incident will be magnified.
- Intelligence 'finds': leaks about 'plots' can emerge conveniently, often never tested in court.
- Entrapment risk: if PA is heavily infiltrated, agents could steer younger or more inexperienced activists into actions that can be spun as terrorism.
Yvette Cooper doesn’t proscribe Palestine Action because they are dangerous. She does it because they’re inconvenient, because they target arms firms, because they embarrass donors, because they expose and embarrass her Government and they highlight Israel lobby’s fingerprints on her corridor. If public justification fails, expect the state to conjure justification.
So if you see headlines tomorrow about a 'violent Palestine Action plot' don’t assume it’s real. Assume whoever writes those headlines might be writing the setup as well. Of course we can’t yet say Cooper will resort to a false flag or provocateurs. But the conditions are there:- a political need to justify a shaky proscription,
- a long British state tradition of infiltration and provocation,
- and a compliant media willing to parrot the “violent extremists” line.
It’s not prophecy: but if we suddenly hear of 'Palestine Action bomb plots' or 'attacks on people' that come out of nowhere, the odds are high that it’s either state-led entrapment or a deliberate stitch-up. It's not like it hasn't happened before.
